While Kylie Minogue was spinning around Paris for her 40th birthday, her former lover Jason Donovan wasn’t exactly crying into his cocktails at missing all the fun. He had his own milestone to celebrate - secretly marrying his long-time partner in Bali.

Using his own big 4-0 bash as a ruse, Donovan invited friends and family to the Indonesian island last Sunday, before breaking the news it would double as his wedding to Angela Malloch.

While his actor father Terry made the trip from Melbourne for the celebration, his half-sister Stephanie was not among the guests.

The aspiring film starlet had planned to attend, but stayed in LA for scheduled auditions.

“It was a surprise for everyone,” a source said.

“Guests flew in from around the world - London, Australia, LA.”

An intimate group of close family and friends are believed to be “honeymooning” with the couple, with some now in the know jetting out of Sydney late last week.

The former Neighbors pin-up and Malloch met a decade ago when he was performing in a London production of The Rocky Horror Show and Malloch was the stage manager.

The couple dated during the UK tour then split. Soon after the break-up, Malloch discovered she was pregnant with their daughter Jemma, born in 2000.

Despite the unexpected start to their family life, the couple welcomed son Zac the following year.

Bali is understood to have been a favorite hot spot for Donovan over the years. He was snapped as a couple with Minogue for the first time in Bali 20 years ago.
