The Publishing of Ngurah Rai Airport Book of Journey
Minister of Tourism and Cultural, Jero Wacik stated that he was proud with PT Angkasa Pura (Persero) I Ngurah Rai Airport with the launching of book concerning Ngurah Rai years in journey, as it is Bali’s airport pride.
“I feel proud with the launching of Ngurah Rai airport journey book starting from 1930 up to 2010,” said Jero Wacik in Tuban Bali.
In the official launching of a book entitled “Ngurah Rai Airport – Gateway to Paradise” he said that historic record in a book is important since it could give thorough explanation about the condition of certain place.
Wacik confessed that he really care about the airport condition since it was the gateway of tourists comes to Indonesia. Thus, he implied for the importance of airport environment cleanliness that will make both domestic and foreign tourists feel comfortable.
“Ngurah Rai airport can be considered as an airport that watched over it cleanliness triggers the tourists receive a well image about Bali,” said Wacik.
General Manager of Angkasa Pura I Ngurah Rai Airport, Heru Legowo said that today that airport has served nine million visitors per year.
“Although, considering it size, Ngurah Rai is a small airport,” he said.
He feels happy with the making of 130 pages book about that international airport.
“We printed the first edition for 1.000 books if it is needed, we are ready to print it again,” he said.
Heru Legowo explained that the making of the book during three month was not a simple job. It is due to the lots of literature material regarding Ngurah Rai Airport hard to find, especially in the beginning of its establishment.
“The obtained of old letters in 1935 triggered the spirit to keep realizing a historical journey of Ngurah Rai Airport during these 70 years,” he said.
