Badung Produce Passion-Fruit Syrup
Food Processing Group Mekar Sari, Banjar Tinggan, Plaga Village of Petang district produced passion-fruit syrup that its launching conducted by Badung Regent, A.A. Gde Agung at Wantilan Pura Penataran Pucak Mangu on Thursday.
In that occasion, the regent instructed straightly that all of the Satuan Kerja Perangkat Daerah (SKPD) – working unit area device – in his territory oblige to buy that passion-fruit syrup as it will be marketed around Bali and other areas.
“After Nyepi this year, I wish for the guests who visiting every institution in this regencies are offered to taste the passion-fruit syrup, product of Banjar Tinggan,” he said.
Besides marketed in government area, the regency also wisher for the local tourism agency to make a new break through with introducing this local passion-fruit syrup product to the tourism agencies, either to hotels, restaurants or else.
“The product had fulfilled every conditions needed and under the Balai Pengawasan Obat dan Makanan (BPOM) – Food and Medicine Observatory Agency – observation as this product also already has its authorization and certificate,” said Gde Agung promoted.
He also asserted that this area superior products contain small amount of preservative or can be said contain none of them. Besides, the quality tends to be organic and suitable for marketing.
In that launching also, there are series of equipment assistance for passion-fruit manufacture as well as the opening of koperasi – cooperative economic organization – training together with UMKM – independent small-scale industry – at industrial and trading sector.
Meanwhile head of industrial and trading agency, koperasi and UKM Badung, Putu Murniathi said that passion-fruit syrup launching has been preceded by passion-fruit preservation by the farmer in 2009 through Badung agriculture and forestry Agency.
“They were aided with 50.000 seeds on 50.000 hectare land. Besides, they also achieved passion fruits processing for seven days to 20 people in that area. From that training, the farmer succeeded made passion-fruit syrup suitable to consume and ready to be marketed,” he said.
He asserted that passion-fruit production is under the authorization of Badung industrial and trading, koperasi and UKM agency as well as Badung Health Agency according to the laboratory test of BPOM Bali.
“Of course before the authorization was given to us there are conditions should be fulfilled as well as processing location appropriate with health condition,” he said.
In relation with it, he said, the regent will give fund assistance for about Rp 28 million for the location infrastructure so they could fulfill all of the conditions required.
