The Government Should Adopt World Silent Day
Bali collaboration for climate change suggested for the government to adopt World Silent Day as one contribution fighting against climate change.
Kolaborasi Bali – Bali Collaboration – for climate change also suggested for the government to determine March 21 as world silent day.
The same suggestion also comes from United Nation. This suggestion proposed in a joint petition together with world silent day memorial on Sunday (March 21).
Kolaborasi Bali advisor for climate change, Hira Jamthani in his statement, Saturday (March 20) in Denpasar, confessed that world silent day is part of certain step for humankind to deal with climate change.
Instead of merely targeting emission reduction as what had been planned by the government so far, still that plan had no real action.
“Between target and activity has no connection. The road map nationally also unclear,” Hira confessed.
Kolaborasi Bali advisor for climate change, Hira Jamthani confessed that world silent day could be considered for a real adoption from Balinese Nyepi concept that has proved could reduce emission for 23 thousand tons for one day from any motor, port and airport activities.
Although, in its real application for world silent day is turn off the electricity and no motor activity for merely four hours, starting from 10.00 a.m. up to 02.00 p.m.
