Overflow from Thailand for Bali Profit

The chaotic condition in Thailand is keep getting worse. Thus, indirectly give some credit for Bali tourism sector. Confessed by head of Bali Tourism Division, Drs. Ida Bagus Kade Subhiksu. M.M., that Bali received significant profit from politic instability in Thailand.

“Thailand always known as one of the world tourism barn visited by many tourists around the world. But due to the recent condition in that country looks like Bali gets the ‘cake halve’ that for all along is part of Thailand share,” said Subhiksu whilst hope for Bali tourism stability.

The data gathered at the office of Bali Tourism Agency showed in 2009 tourists come to Bali from Thailand on January, February and March respectively were 662, 844, 1082 then in 2010 those tourists come to Bali from Thailand on January, February as well as March were 1299, 1439, 3348. In other word, the percentage up to around 9 percent in January and 70 percent in February as for March escalated again for 209 percent. The data mentioned before comes from the recorded 2010 data of Bali Tourism Agency.

It welcomed positively by tourism businessmen in Bali, especially those hotels which have branches in Bangkok, due to the turbulence in Bangkok, all of activities in their hotel in Bangkok shifted to Bali. Meanwhile, Djinaldi Gozana, the executive director of Bali Hotel Association (BHA) said, the crisis happened in Thailand affect in the warning travel into Bangkok. Therefore, tour and travel party tried to shift it into Bali, bring about positive impact for hotels in Bali.

Hotels in Bali that have branches in Bangkok will try to move their activities from Bangkok to Bali so the income will fall to their hotels in Bali,” said Djinaldi when confirmed at his office, yesterday (May 18). Meanwhile, according to head of BTB, Ida Bagus Ngurah Wijaya, explained that with the raising of tourists from Thailand is such a positive impact for Bali economy since all would feel the benefit and indirectly give income for the government through foreign exchange, for tourism businessmen and also for the people in Bali.

“Off course all parties would happy with the raising of foreign tourists to Bali, it will give income for government, businessmen and for the people itself,” said Wijaya at BTB office.
