Pedestrian Sidewalk in Seminyak
What do we need in giving ultimate comfort for tourist to make them stay longer and return? In Bali many believe that it is about people. But look at what do people do here in Seminyak, Bali’s arguably most popular holiday enclave for foreign tourists?
Few months or maybe a year ago the government built a decent sidewalk so pedestrians can comfortably walk along the way and stop by here and there to shop, drink, dine, and finally reach the beautiful golden-sandy beach. The sidewalk built in a way to make it friendly to those carrying children on strollers.
But in the pictures below you can see how people just robbed the comfort of pedestrians by occupying the sidewalk to park. What an amazing behavior!
Traffic in Seminyak is quite busy, but pedestrians have no other way than risking themselves by walking on the street, regardless that the decent sidewalk was in fact built for them.

Looks like they are collaborating in robbing the sidewalk.
Half of it is taken bythe car and the other half by negligent developer.
Squeze yourself or your belt may scratch the car!
So blunt that the driver doesn’t even close the mirror to give slightly more way for pedestrians.
Ooops … it even worse. Not just park, they make it a private garage.
Same here … 100% occupied by the car.
Not all about the cars though … motorbikes too.
Well, but Seminyak enjoys continuously growing popularity. Maybe they think “Well, even in this situation the tourists are continuously flowing in, why should we make it nicer?” Have they ever thought that someday people may get too irritated and prefer to get something better somewhere else? Our Phuket Villas clients will surely never find something like this over there.
