Indonesian Tourism Promotion through PKB

Director for Foreign Promotion of Cultural and Tourism Ministry, I Gde Pitana says Pesta Kesenian Bali which involves other regencies indirectly take part in promoting tourism in Indonesia.

“Bali Cultural Festival or Pesta Kesenian Bali (PKB) activities, run since 1978, had give quite great benefit for tourism development in our country,” said Pitana in Denpasar, on Saturday.

In the middle of 32nd PKB parade, he says that every PKB activities always involves several provinces, either in term of parade, handicraft or industrial exhibition as well as art and cultural exhibition.

“We’ve seen other regencies enthusiastic in PKB is very high. Since they know Bali is the right place for their tourism promotion,” he said.

Thus, he hoped for PKB every year will be more innovative and creative in presenting art and cultural performance,” said this man.

In term of parade performance, facilities for people could see the parade should be more arranged in the future so both domestic and foreign people could watch in conveniently.

“People convenient to watch the parade I thing lack of representative. They still thronging around, in the future we should arrange it better,” said Pitana.

He also mentioned about the performance of the eight regencies and one capital city parade that were good.
“It has been proved that they had performed maximally performed in front of the guests and local people as well as to the foreigner who having holiday in Bali,” he said.

32nd PKB carrying “Sudamala” as its theme in other words deepening inner pureness. The festival itself will be held for one month, ended on July 12 2010 which filled with art and cultural performance, handicraft exhibition as well as cultural gathering.
