Government and Vandalism
Vandalism action that is targeting public facilities and government institutions received feedback from Bali Parliament. Head of Commission I, I Made Arjaya asked the Governor Made Mangku Pastika to mobilize civil service police and eradicating the action that has gone too far already.
Thus, as confessed by Arjaya, on Tuesday (July 13) followed the quick widespread of this vandalism action at varied of public facilities. It is foremost due to the action starting leads to destruction. Arjaya reason for asking Bali Provincial Government through its Civil Service Police has enough background reason. Moreover with Bali Provincial Government that had already make policy as they give portion to Civil Service Police to purely enforced local regulation. They are not burdened anymore with the task of watching over offices or certain events.
Their job to watching over the offices now has been shifted to the security guards. “We’ve asked for the provincial government conduct maximum effort to prevent this action. Moreover with the civil service police whose job no longer divided with guarding government office facilities since there are some contracted security guards responsible for it. Therefore, it does make them more focus to enforce local regulation. This vandalism has disturbed community order and comfort,” said Arjaya.
Commission I in charge of law and its apparatus is worried about this vandalism issue. Their action has damage Sarbagita bus stations in which that stations are not yet operated. “Damage happened even before we use it will cause additional cost. Moreover, they not merely write on wall but it has leads to vandalism. We could prevent this kind of thing if we are serious enough to conduct some preventive actions,” said Arjaya firmly.
NusaBali observation proved that vandalism mostly targeting several institutions boards. Such as at Jalan Juanda in Niti Mandala area, their boards many crossed out with spray paint. It was assumed that this kind of action done at night so the security officers could not see it. Meanwhile, Governor Made Mangku Pastika when confirmed separately in relation with this action said that he would increase the patrol of the security officers. Actually, Pastika says, even without order from the governor those Civil Service Police should anticipate it. “Yes, we will try through raising patrol frequency,” Pastika asserted. Are the officers get theft? Is there has already an anticipation for it? “Actually, even without order, those Civil Service Police and the security officers could prevent it, no need to waiting for order, it was their job,” Pastika said.
